Monday March 10

Last weekend was crazy. I haven’t updated this journal in a few days so ill bring it up to speed. We played Sacramento ( actually Orangevale ) on Friday night. We showed up to the venue where we were supposed to play. Killing The Dream was on the show among some others. It was all set up to be a great night. The people from the show were really nice and fed us and everything. Here’s the thing, it was a christian venue attached to a church. Before the show got started this dude gets back stage ( I guess he is one of the youth leaders at the venue) and told us no swearing on stage, and that he doesn’t want the kids to hurt each other and get too wild on stage or in the pit. Okay, so I understand there are a lot of liabilities that venues have but I also think that the people working these venues can make situations worse. The show was going pretty smooth. Crime In Stereo had finished playing then Killing The Dream was set to go on stage. While they were playing the crowd was going insane! Everyone was having a great time and they were killing it.  There were a few security guys in the front of the stage and our tour manager Puc started noticing some of them being rough with the kids. Puc spoke to them and told them to cool it...At one point the one security guard who wasn’t even wearing anything that would make you identify him as a security guard took a kid by the face and started dragging him out. Puc gets out there to check it out and some huge security guard grabs him and puts him in this choke hold. He was dragged outside and he told me he actually blacked out. When he came to outside he had to explain to the Security that he was the tour manager. So this dude and a couple more security are asked to leave.

Killing The Dream are still playing at this point. That guy who originally was telling us the “ground rules” at the start of the night is one of the dudes on stage. He is totally getting in the middle of the band’s way, pushing kids down when they are on stage, but being a total douche ...just unreasonable. At the end of the set Eli ( KTD singer) says “ I have been totally respectful throughout the whole night,” and pointing to this guy says “ But you are way out of line” Pretty much all 500 people in the room are cheering and Im sure that dude felt pretty dumb. They ended they’re set with a sing along that everyone in the room knew “ we’re all fucked, so fuck it all” I think the sound guy turned off the amps but the drums still kept going… kids are crawling all over each other singing along. It was pretty hilarious. After their set they were threatening to shut down the show, saying it in the mic and everything. So stupid. Kids were chanting CBK CBK and then they let us play. It was actually pretty chill until someone actually got hurt in the pit after we played 5 songs and they wanted to clear out the venue for the ambulance to come and the show was shut down. It totally sucks for the kid. I feel like a lot of people involved in the show were being pretty unreasonable and the show just had a negative vibe from the start.
Why book Comeback Kid if you don’t want the crowd to jump around, and go crazy? It’s kind of our thing. If they would have just let the show happen and not gotten in the middle of it so much, I don’t think any of that shit would have gone down.
After the show went to Chase from Killing The Dream’s house and had a little shaker. Off to the next show.

Saturday we played Kung Foo Corner in Westlake California. It was a Kung Foo dojo. Not as dramatic as the night before. Very cool show though. At this point Dear Life jumped on the tour since Daggermouth had dropped off.  They will be with us till the end of the tour. Sunday we played Chain Reaction in Anaheim. This by far was the best show of the tour. Sold out… and everyone was singing along way louder than the noise coming out of the PA speakers. It ruled so much. That day too I went to do some guest vocals on my friends band Grave Maker’s cd. I think they just signed to Think Fast! so that album should be out in a few months. Drove today to Arizona. Played the Clubhouse in Tucson tonight and we’re on the night train to Texas!
