Played the first show of the tour last night in Fargo, North Dakota. Crazy thing is its so close to where we’re from but we have never been there before. Jeremy, Kyle, and I had to process our USA working papers for the year. The border sucks. They were actually not assholes this time, but they kept us there for a long time because they “forgot” to tell us they were done inspecting our van. Searching for all the illegal stuff we have in there. The tour is with Crime In Stereo, Daggermouth, and Cancerbats are meeting up with us later on. Daggermouth dropped off the bill last minute because of some band issues. Shit.
The show went off in Fargo! It’s really cool to play places like that because I don’t think they get too many bands coming through. At least not as many as most major cities in America, so they are so psyched and really appreciate it. The venue was the perfect size. Nice and small, Kids packed up to the front. Lineups for stage dives. Sweaty room. I love it. After the show we hung out with some friends that drove out for the show and some of us went to a house party. I downed a bunch of Southern Comfort, some guy showed me his NHL logo “CBK” tattoo, and talked a lot of bullshit. Good start to the tour!
Woke up today with a decent hangover and driving to Rapid City, South Dakota. Crazy how much warmer it got. I ate some of the worst fish and chips in some little pub down the road. The venue we’re is the basement of a hotel bar. A lot of sketchies looking out their window wondering what all the kids are doing yelling and hanging outside. The show was super fun, again one of those places where they really appreciate us coming. That feels good. Someone broke a ceiling fan when they jumped off the stage. It was in such an awkward place right by the stage is was bound to happen. After the show I sang Ozzy’s “Crazy Train” at the bar upstairs. It was karaoke night and the bar was filled with maybe 8 drunk dudes and Comeback Kid. Now we’re driving through the night… next stop OMAHA!
