Darby Crash Rides Again: The Early Years
Southern Lord
The first in a series of POISON IDEA releases running throughout 2012, Darby Crash Rides Again: The Early Years compiles the unreleased Boner’s Kitchen demo from ’81, the Darby Crash Rides Again ’82 demo, a 1983 KBOO radio set and outtakes from the sessions of the seminal 1984-released Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes EP. All rough, raw, fast and tough, the record’s 29 tracks include different versions of such greats as “Ugly American,” “Typical,” “Think Fast,” “Pure Hate,” and “Castration” as well as somewhat lesser known songs like “Town Hall,” “Bounce The Rubble” and “Young Lord.” To sum it up, this is a must have for any POISON IDEA fan, an early look at the brilliance of one of the ‘80s greatest hardcore punk bands.
