Maturing is a fine line in the world of rock music and all too often translates into an evolution of radio pandering, pointless noodling or even worse, mass boringness. In this case, in the 3 years since An Evening Of Bad Decisions, STATIC RADIO NJ have eased themselves into a more pop influenced punk band as opposed to the melodic hardcore roaring of their earlier work. Now with a heavy 90‘s alt- rock slant, the songs here could have easily been sandwiched between NIRVANA and SAMIAM videos on 120 Minutes circa the mid 90‘s, and while some purists might be turned off by the lack of anthemic thumping this time around, to me this really sounds like a band coming into their own.
