After 3 years of writing and recording, the proper follow-up to the group’s celebrated 2005 debut ‘Transitive Verses’ LP has been announced for a Summer 2010 release date. Recorded by Sonny James and Brian Fraser between 2007-2009, ‘When the Chorus Walks’ LP offers a striking new set of instrumental pieces, at times recalling the stark economy of the groups early EP & singles for Expel Records. The record evokes its particular vision in the context of a live band over the course of seven entrancing new guitar-based compositions, and features an impressive cast of players, including Matt Holt (ex-Continental, electric guitar), Michael Jacobs (Drum kit), Sonny James (electric guitar, programming), Mike Eul (ex-Continental, synth), Fionnuala Ni Chiosoig (violin), Nik Dawson (programming, drones), Clay Payton (drum and synth programming), and Matthew Sieling (bass guitar). The record doesn’t stray too far from the ambient-electro roots of ‘Transitive Verses’, whose collage-style arrangements and weird instrumental-pop collective mentality still informs much of the new material.
