Aimee Ortiz of Radagun – Looking at Letters To Cleo’s “Here And Now”
When I was in 5th grade my mom let me watch Melrose Place (the original series). Maybe Melrose Place isn’t the best thing for a ten-year-old to be watching, but were it not for my less-than-discerning mother, I might not have discovered Letters To Cleo. The moment I saw their music video for “Here And Now”, which aired at the end of every episode, I was instantly a fan, and have remained a fan to this day. I was super proud of myself because Letters To Cleo was the first band I ever liked that I didn’t hear about from my parents, and it opened up a whole new world to me, and I’m sure a world of headaches for my parents. Whenever I watch the video I always laugh and say, “this is the most 90′s video ever!” I think that’s why I love it so much, it takes me right back to the nights of sitting on the living room floor wishing the song was just a little bit longer so I wouldn’t have to go to bed. We were fortunate enough to record our latest EP, We Just Woke Up with Scott Riebling, who was their bass player. Working with Scott was a great experience. He’s such a talented person, and it was for sure one of the highlights of my life to record with someone from one of my favorite bands.
