AMP News Update – Around the underground.

admin July 27, 2010 2

There was some interesting stuff happening in the underground music scene recently. We’ve rounded up some of the headlines that grabbed our attention and decided to share them with you.

Sound and Fury Fest Madness:

This one has been posted everywhere. The fest was shut down due to some pretty insane tom-foolery involving trash cans and motorcycles. The fest ending early led to bands such as Earth Crisis, and Bane (among others) to never hit the stage. Altpress.com has a detailed explanation of the event, including pictures, and video of the crowd turning on security.

Brokencyde Accusation Anniversary:
About a month ago there was rumor that the members of Brokencyde had died in a bus accident in Colorado. About this time I’m sure the band would rather that rumor be reborn that take the shape of the latest accusation that was rolling around with their name on it. A web-savy prankster in Canada set up a fake TMZ website, and accused members of Brokencyde of being jailed on drug, rape, and child pornography charges.

Saosin loses yet another front man:

Taken from the bands MySpace Blog:
“after 5 years with (vocalist) cove (Reber), we have decided to part ways. so it will be a new experience for us, not knowing what to expect in the vocal dept, who will replace him, or if we will even find a replacement this century.” Beau Burchell (Guitarist)

First Anthony Green, and now Cove Reber. Saosin has parted ways with their front man for the second time, which should be interesting as they’ve recently decided to part ways with their major label and go with a more “DIY” approach.
