Having been keeping a close eye on this rising New Jersey/Philadelphia hardcore band for sometime now, I was pretty excited to hear they had a new full length coming out. While legions of bands are playing the melodic and anthemic east coast hardcore sound these days, young outfits like TRANSIT, TITLE FIGHT and ONE WIN CHOICE have all really stood out as bands who are writing exceptional music from a powerful, heartfelt and empassioned place.
With Conveyor, the band seamlessly blend roaring, relentless power with harmonic, tuneful moments that remain ingrained in your head. While some bands prefer to remain strictly ear splitting hardcore and others sit firmly on the side of melodic punk, ONE WIN CHOICE play both simultaneously, combining sheer abrasiveness with incredibly catchy melodies in a way that bands like Refused or Grade benefitted so much from.
Taking on a more relaxed recording schedule with this disc proved to have a huge impact; Conveyor has an amazing sound quality to it, with buzzing layered guitars and lots of interesting instrumental moments that help capture the intensity of these songs. Though the band’s first LP and follow up EP were excellent displays of visceral, throat shredding manicness, this new disc is hands down their best work to date. (TH)
